Night of the Homunculus
Lightwave 3D, Photoshop
February 2007

An early character modelled and rendered in Lightwave 6.5 about 4 years ago, I know this critter doesn't have sub surface scattering, displacement maps and all that, but it's still worth a look I hope.

I drifted away from working in 3D not long after I did this, but just recently I came across modo, which I've been experimenting with. I'm hoping to post some of my new output here soon.

My current tool kit consists of modo 202 and Painter X; both of which keep amazing me. Graphics software has come so far recently, it's great!

The idea was an homunculus (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homunculus) in the moonlight out doing the bidding of his master, who dwells beneath the mausoleum. The creature has spotted you hiding behind a tombstone. What were you doing there in the graveyard? No matter, he will take you inside to see Paracelsus forthwith.

Hope you enjoy this image, comments welcome...
